In 1973, Bruce Lee seemed to find stardom overnight following the premiere of the martial arts film “Enter the Dragon.”But fame came too late for Lee, who died before the film’s opening at age 32.

The early relationships Lee formed “were formative to who he became as not just a martial artist, but as a philosopher and a film star,” Nguyen says.

Bruce Lee died on July 20, 1973, weeks before the release of “Enter the Dragon.”
