The “Wall of Moms” continues to grow as organizers in Chicago created a group inspired by the one in Portland, Ore., to help protesters by forming a human barrier between them and the police during demonstrations.
Chicago resident Katje Sabin has participated in local protests over the years and formed the fledgling Wall of Moms Chicago with modest ambitions: to act as a placeholder in case Wall of Moms was needed in her city.
“I thought it would be a few friends and me,” Sabin told The Post on Thursday.
“Turns out I have 5,110 friends.”Organized through Facebook this week, the group ballooned quickly.
Group members have discussed protective gear, safety risks and the reality that they could be injured or arrested.
