QUINCY — Quincy Asian Resources Inc. held a virtual conversation about Asian racism, “Breaking the Silence on Asian Racism,” via Zoom Thursday night for Quincy youth and local representatives and community leaders.
The Quincy nonprofit’s Youth Program Manager, Rockey Chan, said the event was an opportunity for Asian youth in Quincy and the South Shore to share their stories and perceptions on Asian racism in local communities.
These numbers did not include young adults, which is why Chan wanted to give the local youth an opportunity to share their experiences.
She became afraid to speak English in front of people.
Chan said that his mother did not speak English as well as some of the other parents.
