During the Democratic presidential primary race, Andrew Yang was not a widely known candidate.

The debate stage gave him only a few minutes to voice his ideas, especially universal basic income.

Now in the midst of a pandemic, I realize that universal basic income would have supported people and made the stimulus payments unnecessary (especially the $1.4 billion that went to dead people).

Further, now that an eviction crisis looms on the horizon, I can again see that universal basic income could have helped renters pay their rent and landlords pay their property taxes.

Too bad Yang’s brilliant idea was dismissed by many without clearly understanding how it actually can work.
