The Marlins’ general manager looks like me.
I saw it with my own eyes during Kim Ng’s introductory press conference.
Ng made history Friday when she was named the first female general manager in a men’s North American sports league and just the second person of Asian descent to hold a GM title in Major League Baseball.
“People are looking for hope,” Ng said of her hiring in her virtual introductory press conference Monday.
But if I am completely honest, it took me a long time to get to the point where I realized the value of this kind of representation.
