Venezuelan media outlets that challenge the right-wing narratives pushed by the major corporate media networks and Washington were also censored.

The Grayzone has previously documented how Google, Facebook, and Twitter have removed social media accounts of real-life Iranians, including journalists.

And social media corporations have dutifully catered to Washington’s agenda, stiffing free speech in the process.

Instagram and its owner Facebook have also suspended hundreds of Venezuelan, Iranian, and Syrian accounts, expressly citing U.S. government sanctions as the justification.
