The Philippines records 1,910 new coronavirus cases on Wednesday, the lowest number in more than three weeks, and 78 more fatalities.

3:07 p.m. Tokyo reports 177 new coronavirus infections, up from 166 a day earlier, bringing the Japanese capital’s total to 28,136.

Total confirmed cases in the country have risen to 344,713, the highest number in Southeast Asia, while deaths total 6,372.

The orders come in response to a spike in coronavirus cases in the country, with the total reaching nearly 16,000.
